Who funds us

Who pays for this guide, and the money we refuse. Every amount we receive will be listed here with its date and purpose.

Where the money comes from

Today Respek Bali has one funder: the founder, Nikolay Asta. He pays for research, writing, design and hosting from his own money. There are no other donors yet.

The founder is also a developer and hotel operator in Bali. That conflict of interest is set out on the About page. His companies do not pay for Respek Bali.

By 31 October 2026 we will add here the amount he has spent so far. After that, every amount we receive is listed here with its date and purpose.

From the second year we plan to rely on grants from foundations and international organisations and on a course sold at cost.

Whose money we never take

We never take money from developers, real estate agents, sellers, booking platforms, banks, law firms or insurers, or from anyone we might describe or list. No advertising, no referral fees, no paid placement.

We accept grants from foundations and international organisations, support from embassies and universities, and private donations. Government bodies may pay only for tools under a contract that gives them no say over what we write.

How to support us

If you represent a foundation, an international organisation, an embassy or a university, or want to give privately, write to hello@respekbali.com.

Before we accept any money we check it against the rules above. Once accepted, it is listed on this page.
